This experience was part of an intensive Spanish language and culture program, which combined international Spanish classes with practical hospitality training. As part of the program, in this fast-paced, modern Spanish restaurant, I supported the bar during peak service. My activities included:
- Preparing cocktails and long drinks, learning basic mixology techniques.
- Assisting with stock checks and restocking routines.
- Interacting with guests in both English and Spanish.
Through this experience, I learned:
- How to work efficiently in a high-turnover environment.
- The importance of speed, memory, and multitasking in guest-facing roles.
- The cultural nuances of customer service in international hospitality settings.
